Nursing: Bringing Together Expertise and Care
Nursing is one of the most important professions in healthcare. It combines scientific knowledge with clinical skills, as well as communication and patient care.
At Shantha College of Nursing, our B.Sc Nursing programme is approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), giving students a recognised foundation for a career in nursing.
The B.Sc Nursing programme runs for four years, followed by a six-month internship, providing students with sustained exposure to different areas of patient care.
Classroom to Clinical Practice
Nursing is a profession where practical experience matters just as much as academic knowledge. Students need to apply what they learn, respond to different clinical situations and work as part of a healthcare team. At Shantha, we provide practical training through nursing and anatomy laboratories, simulation-based learning and hospital-based clinical postings. This allows students to develop their skills in a structured environment before taking on greater responsibility during their clinical training. The programme also brings together areas such as nursing science, clinical practice, research methodology and healthcare knowledge. This combination helps students understand not only how to care for patients, but also how nursing fits into the wider healthcare system.Varied Career Opportunities
A nursing qualification can lead to considerably more than a conventional hospital role. Depending on their interests and experience, graduates can explore careers in:- Hospitals and clinical care
