D. Pharm

Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) program is a two-year diploma course focusing on pharmaceutical sciences. The D. Pharm Course offered by Shantha college of Pharmacy is approved by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi, and Government of Karnataka. Pursuing D. Pharm can be a good beginning to understand the fundamentals of pharmacy programme and then pursue advanced courses like B. Pharm & Pharm.D.

The D. Pharm curriculum covers a wide range of subjects including Human Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Ethics, and more.

Minimum qualification for admission

Candidate shall have passed PUC/10+2 examination conducted by the respective state/central government authorities recognized as equivalent to PUC/10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (P.C.M) and or Biology (P.C.B / P.C.M.B.) as optional subjects individually with 50% aggregates.



Examinations

There shall be two or more periodic sessional (internal assessment) examinations during each academic year. The duration of the sessional exam shall be 90 minutes. The highest aggregate of any two performances shall form the basis of calculating the sessional marks. Board of Examining Authoirty shall conduct Final Examination for theory and practicals for 80 Marks.

Training

Upon successful completion of the Second Year D. Pharm. Examination, students are required to participate in a mandatory practical training program consisting of 500 hours, to be completed within a 3-month period at an approved Hospital/Pharmacy.
