Chikkaballapura, July 11, 2025:
Final‑year BSc Nursing students from Shantha College of Nursing commemorated World Population Day with a meaningful community outreach event at PHC Peresandra. Guided by the belief that “the power of population is indefinitely greater than the power in the Earth to produce subsistence for man,” the students took this opportunity to spread awareness about the growing concerns related to overpopulation.
Final-year BSc Nursing students from Shantha College of Nursing commemorated World Population Day with a meaningful community outreach event at PHC Peresandra. Guided by the belief that “the power of population is indefinitely greater than the power in the Earth to produce subsistence for man,” the students took this opportunity to spread awareness about the growing concerns related to overpopulation.

As part of the initiative, students organized a roleplay and interactive educational sessions to emphasize the importance of health and environmental consciousness among the rural population. The event focused on fostering a better understanding of the impact of population growth on public health and natural resources.
This activity is a part of the students’ community health nursing training, with urban postings in Chikkaballapur and rural postings in Peresandra and Mandikal. Their practical exposure also includes clinical affiliations with reputed hospitals such as Jayadeva Hospital, Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Spandana (Manasa), and Victoria Hospital (Vani Villas).
The program was well received by the local community, marking a successful blend of academic learning and public service.
