
OVERVIEW
Shantha Group of Institutions celebrated “Movement for Life: Physiotherapy Week 2024” from 9th September to 13th September organized by Shantha College of Physiotherapy.
The objective of Physiotherapy Week was to celebrate the physiotherapy profession, promote health awareness, and engage students in various academic and physical activities.
The goal was to create a week-long series of events that allowed the students to showcase their skills, interact with peers, and participate in health-related initiatives.
EVENT DETAILS
Day 1: 09/09/2024: MONDAY
The event began at approximately 02:00 PM with an opening ceremony for the entire week. After Ms. Manushree from the BPT 2nd year welcomed the dignitaries, Dr. Suresh Kumar (PT), the Principal of Physiotherapy, provided insight into the significance of physiotherapy in healthcare.
Day 2: 11/09/2024: WEDNESDAY
The 2nd day of the event commenced around 10:00 AM. A hands-on workshop and practical experience was conducted by Dr. Gloria Alva (PT), a renowned expert in cardiopulmonary science and critical care.
Day 3: 12/09/2024: THURSDAY
The 3rd day of the event was dedicated to a door-to-door health campaign in nearby communities. This campaign aimed to educate the public on health issues and the importance of physiotherapy in overall wellness.
Day 4: 13/09/2024: FRIDAY
The last day was dedicated to the Health Camp at SGI, where the physiotherapy students provided free consultations, health assessments, and treatment to the community. Approximately 86 patients attended the camp, benefiting from personalized care and guidance.



EVENT OUTCOME
Physiotherapy Week 2024 was a resounding success, fulfilling its goals of education, community engagement, and skill development. The diverse activities provided students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts, while the community outreach initiatives highlighted the vital role of physiotherapy in promoting overall health and wellness. This celebration not only enriched the students’ learning experiences but also strengthened connections within the community, paving the way for future initiatives in the field.
