Shantha BOT Students Attend Hands-on Workshop on Hand Splinting Organized by Heritage City College
Mysuru, July 12, 2025
Students from Occupational Therapy actively participated in an intensive Workshop on Hand Splinting (hands‑on practice) hosted by Heritage City College. The event focused on empowering future therapists with practical exposure to various splinting techniques essential for hand rehabilitation.
The inaugural ceremony was marked by invocation, lamp lighting, and insightful addresses by eminent dignitaries including Dr. U. T. Ifthikar Ali, Dr. Sridhar D., Mr. Dineshkumar T. (HOD), and A. B. Ibrahim (Retd. IAS), who emphasized the relevance of hands‑on clinical skill development in allied health sciences.
The workshop featured four technical sessions covering splint design, fabrication, and application for various upper limb conditions. Shantha BOT students immersed themselves in each session, applying theoretical concepts in a real‑time, clinical learning environment.
This workshop aligns with Shantha Group of Institutions’ mission to foster clinical excellence and experiential learning. Students returned with enhanced practical skills, bridging the gap between classroom learning and patient care.

Final-year BSc Nursing students from Shantha College of Nursing commemorated World Population Day with a meaningful community outreach event at PHC Peresandra. Guided by the belief that “the power of population is indefinitely greater than the power in the Earth to produce subsistence for man,” the students took this opportunity to spread awareness about the growing concerns related to overpopulation.
As part of the initiative, students organized a roleplay and interactive educational sessions to emphasize the importance of health and environmental consciousness among the rural population. The event focused on fostering a better understanding of the impact of population growth on public health and natural resources.

A Grand Start to Fest 2025 with Energy, Emotion & Celebration!
The first day of Fest 2025 was nothing short of extraordinary, beginning with a series of special and memorable moments. The day held double significance as it also marked the birthday of our beloved Chairman, Dr. K. Sudhakar Sir.
The celebration commenced with a vibrant flash mob by our students at the Open Air Theatre. The energy and enthusiasm of the performance instantly ignited festive vibes across the campus. This was followed by the official unveiling of the Fest 2025 name, which was met with huge cheers and excitement, officially launching the three-day celebration.
Adding to the joy, we were honored by the presence of Dr. Sudhakar Sir’s father, whose visit added warmth and inspiration to the occasion. Later, Dr. K. Sudhakar Sir himself arrived on campus, where students, faculty, and staff joined together in celebrating his birthday. The heartfelt cake-cutting ceremony, filled with smiles, wishes, and gratitude, created a beautiful and emotional moment for all present.
